History

GetUWired was founded by Lee Goff in 2003. The company was originally geared toward web design and engineering, and it continued to follow that path for the next five to six years or so. The company took a fateful turn in 2009, when Lee decided to shift the businesses’ objectives toward web marketing and engineering instead. Lee traveled far and wide in search of various marketing gurus, finally taking on Jay Conrad Levinson, the father of Guerilla Marketing, as a mentor. In time, Jay hired Lee to be his Chief Web Officer, overseeing his company’s website engineering operations. Lee greatly multiplied his marketing knowledge and skills under Jay’s tutelage, which he still uses to help clients to this day.

Lee Goff - CEO

Lee launched GetUWired in 2003, a company that has grown to provide web marketing services to over a thousand clients in just eight years. As CEO he presides over all operations at GetUWired, inspiring the team to continuously provide superlative marketing services. His meritocratic leadership style and dedication to client success has helped turn GetUWired into a flourishing web marketing, conversion, and automation specialist company.

With an education from Southern Mississippi University, a distinct marketing aptitude and an exemplary track record, Lee guides the development and implementation of strategic marketing plans. Putting his affiliations and strategic partnerships with Guerrilla Marketing, InfusionSoft, and Stompernet to good use, Lee has positioned himself as a renowned leader in the Internet marketing world. Lee's valued proficiency in marketing strategy, conversion, engineering, SEO, and design has led him to become the Chief Web Officer of Guerrilla Marketing, develop web marketing strategies for the country of Fiji, and lead clientele to Internet growth and profitability. Additionally, Lee has received the title of Guerilla Marketing Master Trainer, which is only awarded to a limited number of promising business leaders around the world by Jay Conrad Levinson himself.

When Lee is not developing marketing stratagies and running the show at GetUWired, he’s enjoying the company of his beautiful wife and their precious daughter.

Melissa Allen - Senior Project Manager

As the Senior Project Manager, Melissa supervises, directs, and organizes each of the experienced marketing service professionals at GetUWired. Her steadfast determination and focused leadership demeanor consistently stirs the team to produce superb marketing, design, engineering, SEO, and content materials for each project. Additionally, Melissa's managerial responsibilities include client consultations, organizational HR duties, employee training, and oversight of GetUWired’s Internship Program.

Before working at GetUWired, Melissa was employed for four years as the Guest Relations Manager at the Full Service Marriott in Savannah, GA, which provided the necessary experience for her to manage both clients and employees effectively.

Armed with a Bachelor's in Business Management, Melissa joined the GetUWired team in April of 2008 and has been an invaluable asset ever since. Her vast scope of managerial experience and technical marketing expertise has directly led to the entrepreneurial success of GetUWired.

Melissa is the proud wife of a U.S. Army Ranger, and the mother of their adorable daughter. If the weekend is nice, Melissa frequently enjoys the gorgeous weather out on Lake Burton with her family and friends.

Dobbin Buck – Chief Web Officer

As a dedicated Chief Web Officer, Dobbin designs, defines, and directs marketing strategies for a multitude of GetUWired clients. His noteworthy background covers over 16 years of experience developing major museum projects and attractions including the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame, The Guggenheim Museum NYC, Disney Epcot Center Corporate Pavilions, Disney Quest, the National Science Center, Corkscrew Swamp for the Audubon Society, the Kenneth Cole - Rockefeller Center (NYC) and over 30 additional permanent installations.

Dobbin's unsurpassed exposure to management and marketing orchestrations provide the cornerstone for his success as a Chief Web Officer. To Dobbin, it's all about the GetUWired mission: to make web marketing a friendly and accessible business development resource for all business owners. Dobbin has been a member of the GetUWired team for four years now, and he’s our CEO’s right-hand-man. His leadership, vision, and unparalleled knowledge in marketing strategy is derived from his passion for excellence and fixation upon client success.

In his off time, Dobbin enjoys taking his wife and children to the neighborhood waterfalls of the North Georgia mountains, spending the day swimming and exploring the local wilderness. His other favored pastimes include playing traditional mountain music, hiking on the nearby Appalachian Trail, and serving on the executive committee of Dahlonega's "Bear on The Square" festival.

Bobby Brown - Senior Web Developer

Bobby is a respected and experienced website developer who works closely with clients to engineer the best solution for their projects. His impeccable eye for detail stops problems dead in their tracks during all stages of development.

Bobby was the recipient of the Marion C. Wicht Computer Science Award thanks to his technical skills and dedication. His immersion in creative learning environments also inspired him to present at engineering conferences including the International Symposium on Bioinformatics Research and Applications in 2008.

The company’s Senior Web Developer is a North Georgia College & State University graduate with a B.S. in Computer Science. He was also the president of the Computer Council, and his education was marked by a deep exploration of Java, PHP, CSS, HTML, Ruby, MySQL, C++, and Visual Basic.

Bobby loves teaching others and currently calls Dahlonega, Georgia home.

Hollie Shirley - Marketing Coordinator

Hollie started with GetUWired in October 2010, specializing in search engine optimization, social media marketing, Google cost-per-click, keyword research, and various other marketing-related skillsets. She graduated from Piedmont College in 2008 with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, gaining the crucial knowledge required to understand the interaction of various web skills and the real world. When she’s not crunching the numbers or analyzing gobs of web traffic data, Hollie enjoys spending time with her family, going to the lake, and swimming.

Richard Tabor - Design Specialist

Richard started working at GetUWired in May of 2011, and his skills in both web and graphic design were apparent right away. He graduated from North Georgia College with a Marketing BBA and a minor in leadership in the spring of the same year. His background in marketing helps to ensure that his designs achieve maximum conversion rates. Richard covers everything from website, logo, business card, and advertisement designs (just to name a few). In his spare time Richard enjoys playing his guitars, the piano, and even the drums on occasion. Finally, our savvy designer also loves photography and photo editing.

Crystal Clemons - Administrative Assistant

Crystal has been employed at GetUWired since November of 2010 as the Administrative Manager, and she covers a diverse range of tasks like accounting, staff support, customer service, and website maintenance traffic coordination. She attended Motlow State Community College with a concentration in English and Communication. When Crystal isn’t handling the payroll, assisting customers, or being a great morale booster for the team, she especially enjoys skating and horseback riding.

Jon McBrayer - Web Developer

As a web developer, Jon handles much of the code behind the website curtain. He graduated from North Georgia College & State University in 2010, majoring in computer science and minoring in both studio art and psychology, which contributes to his well-rounded mindset. Jon manages much of the email database work at GetUWired in addition to his web engineering projects and tends to be a go-to guy for random tech questions in the office.

Jeff Shinn - Web Developer

Jeff has worked at GetUWired since March of 2011, providing his development engineering expertise in the areas of web slicing, MySQL, joomla!, WordPress, MVC architecture adherence and more. He graduated from DeVry in 2009 with a Bachelor of Computer Engineering Technology and has since put his object-oriented database programming skills to good use. When he isn’t helping other developers grasp the intricacies of a certain programming language or troubleshooting a difficult slice, Jeff enjoys cooking, listening to music and being his daughter's best friend.

Philip Moore - Copywriter

Philip is the company’s copywriter, providing content for internal and client websites, sales pages, landing pages, and more. As a marketing graduate from North Georgia College & State University, he has combined his education with an interest in science fiction writing to become a skilled creative writer at GetUWired. Philip also enjoys troubleshooting/building computers and learning about diverse subjects like psychology, economics, history, and politics.

Ian Mackenzie - Web Developer

Ian has been a web developer with GetUWired since January 2009. He’s currently attending Gainesville State College with the aim of getting a computer science degree, but he’ll be graduating this winter before moving on to Georgia Tech for a mechanical engineering degree. His responsibilities at the company include web development and programming, and he specializes in Flash, JavaScript, and user interfaces in general.
