2017 Best Places to Work in Georgia

We did it again, folks. The tribe here at GetUWired is extremely proud to announce that we’ve been named a Best Place to Work in Georgia by Georgia Trend magazine for the second year in a row.

As if just loving our jobs wasn’t enough, we got an award for it

Our path to being named a 2017 Best Place to Work in Georgia started with surveys. We provided Georgia Trend Magazine information about our employee numbers, pay, benefits, and the nitty-gritty “back of house” numbers that give a picture of who we are on paper.

Then, our employees each filled out a survey that detailed what it’s like to really work in the trenches at GetUWired. Questions centered on finding out how much employees feel valued and are empowered to do great work. Basically – asking if we loved out jobs.

If you follow our blog and social media, you already know the answer to this – a resounding YES!

We ranked #4 – Again (We are nothing if not consistent)

Out of all the companies in Georgia that entered the contest, we ranked #4 in the small/medium-sized companies category for the second year in a row. You can see the entire list of winners plus the article here. We are in prestigious company, and it’s an honor to be listed among such great Georgia companies.

In the spotlight

This year, we’re excited about getting several different mentions in the Georgia Trend Magazine article. Project Manager Chris Johnessee even got his picture featured – one of the truly awesome ones from our Easter kickball team-building event.

GetUWired perks like being able to bring your dogs and kids to work, games like Frisbee and bean bag toss being played at lunch, cash prizes for contests, and lots of opportunities for work/play outside because of our rural location were all showcased as highlights of working at GetUWired.

We even got two whole paragraphs under different sections dedicated to us. Why is this a big deal? It’s just two little paragraphs, right? Well, 20 different companies made the 2017 Best Places to Work list, and only a small fraction of those got a mention in the article. And we got two whole paragraphs!

Under the Recognition Relished section, the article read:

“GetUWired staff members are eligible for referral bonuses for bringing on new clients or selling additional services to existing clients. But raking in revenues or not, at the annual awards program, every employee receives a certificate honoring something funny they are best known for at the office. Examples include “Office Hide and Seek Champion” and “Most Likely to be Asked to Help Me Move This Weekend.”

Under the Fun Favored section, it read:

“At GetUWired, quarterly team-building events offer employees the chance to go whitewater rafting, find their way out of mystery escape rooms and join in survival training. The office regularly erupts with Nerf gun battles during the workday. At lunch – taking advantage of its rural location – the company provides ample opportunities for outdoor relaxation, games and play. But beware: if you leave on vacation, you’ll probably be pranked – with leadership staff often masterminding the capers, the more elaborate the better.”

We’re just so freaking proud of where we work

“I can’t begin to express how grateful I am for our staff here at GetUWired,” said CEO Melissa Allen. “It’s because of them that we’ve been named a Best Place to Work two years in a row. Their dedication to each other, and our company, and our clients, is unbelievable. I’m humbled and honored to work with such passionate, caring people who also know how to make work fun. They love coming to work every day, and because of them, so do I.”
